Balco Australia is the nation’s leading processor and exporter of high-grade oaten and cereal hay with a highly valued network of loyal growers and an expanding international market. With two hay processing plants located across Australia, Balco exports to Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China.

Two processing plants are located at Bowmans in South Australia (just outside Balaklava), and another in Brookton,130 kms south east of Perth in Western Australia. Hay is purchased from select growers across Australia who deliver large square bales to the production sites. These bales are processed and compressed into smaller bales weighing approximately 46kgs (often half-cut into 23kg bales) before being ‘unitised’ and packed into containers for export.

A large and loyal network of growers in each region gives Balco Australia a geographical spread of supply and production of more than  150,000 tonnes annually. Coupled with this is Balco Australia’s flexibility to meet varying and specific client orders, from an increasingly sophisticated market.
